He graduated from Zhejiang University in 1983 and 1986, and obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in engineering. He graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2000 with a doctorate in engineering. From October 1992 to October 1993, he studied at the Institute of Internal Combustion Engines and Aerodynamics at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. From December 2004 to June 2005, he was a senior visiting scholar at the Laboratory of Internal Combustion at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. Since July 1986, he has been teaching at Tongji University. He is currently the director of the Institute of Engine Energy Conservation and Emission Control of the Automotive College. From September 2012, he was deputy mayor of the People's Government of Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province.
He is currently the vice chairman of the Testing Technology Branch of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society, a member of the Editorial Committee of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society, the deputy director of the Basic Parts Branch of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society, the member of the National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee and the Deputy Chairman of the Expert Committee, and the Automotive Environmental Protection Committee of the Shanghai Automotive Engineering Society. The main research areas include: automotive engine product development process and method; automotive engine CAE technology and method; vehicle powertrain optimization and matching; vehicle and engine thermal management technology and optimization; automotive engine booster technology application and product development; (Intake and exhaust system and gas distribution mechanism) optimization; internal combustion engine working process analysis and optimization; energy saving and emission control; exhaust gas aftertreatment technology (EGR, SCR); engine parts (new product) development and design technology; test and test technology Alternative fuel technology. As of June 2018, 12 doctoral students and 132 master students have been trained (graduated). At present, there are 5 courses for undergraduates, masters and doctoral students. The principles of "automobile internal combustion engine", "automobile internal combustion engine test technology", "vehicle hybrid engine", "Dehan science and technology dictionary", etc. are compiled or edited. Seven books, "Gasoline Engine Mixture Formation" and "Engine Internal Combustion Engine" were translated into two parts, completing more than 30 national and enterprise scientific research projects, publishing more than 300 papers and major academic reports, and applying for 12 patents by the first applicant. .
