On the morning of June 22, a delegation from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia), led by Vice Rector Professor Gianluca Marchi, visited the School of Automotive Studies at Tongji University. The delegation included Antonio Sblendorio, Director of International Affairs, LIU Weiyong, President of the Modena Chinese Business Association, and Deputy Secretaries-General CHEN Dazheng and WANG Yesheng. The visit was also joined by Tongji alumnus JIANG Jingyang, Executive Director of Shanghai Yiyao Electronics Co., Ltd. They were warmly received by Professor PANG Jiabin, Director of the Shanghai Automotive Wind Tunnel Center, Assistant Dean Professor ZHOU Quan, Professor LI Yanlong, and Coordinator for International Affairs LIN Sijia.The delegation first visited the Intelligent Connect Vehicle Evaluation Base, where they were briefed on its core facilities and the cloud-controlled unmanned testing system. They then toured the Shanghai Automotive Wind Tunnel Center, where Professor PANG Jiabin introduced the center’s cutting-edge technologies and their applications in new energy vehicle and high-speed rail aerodynamics. At the Ningyuan Building, Professor LI Yanlong showcased student-designed concept cars that features a modular smart cockpit and the use of sustainable materials.



During the meeting, Professor Gianluca Marchi introduced the long-standing history and academic strengths of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Professor ZHOU Quan shared an overview of SAS at Tongji University, including its educational approach, research achievements, and future development plans. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on talent cultivation and research collaboration, expressing strong interest in further strengthening institutional ties.
