Tongji University and Infineon Inaugurate Industry-Education Integration Innovation Practice Base

On March 14, the "Tongji University – Infineon Industry-Education Integration Innovation and Practice Base" was officially inaugurated at Infineon Technologies' Greater China headquarters. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the partnership between Tongji University and Infineon, aiming to drive technological innovation and talent development in the automotive industry.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Cao Jing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University; Zhang Lijun, Party Secretary and Dean of the School of Automotive Studies; Cao Yanfei, Senior Vice President of Infineon Technologies and Head of the Automotive Business for Greater China; and Zhong Xiaolong, Head of the Automotive Business Power & New Energy Systems Unit.


The newly established base integrates Tongji University’s research capabilities with Infineon’s industrial expertise, fostering innovation and practical applications in automotive technology. It also serves as a platform for cultivating future talent, providing students with hands-on learning opportunities.

During the ceremony, Cao Jing highlighted the 20-year partnership between Tongji and Infineon, emphasizing their shared goals in digital intelligence, green transformation, and decarbonization. Zhang Lijun underscored the base’s role in advancing global technological innovation and setting new benchmarks for the automotive industry. Cao Yanfei reaffirmed Infineon’s commitment to sustainability and digitalization, while Tang Hong, Head of Human Resources for Infineon China, emphasized the base’s mission to nurture skilled professionals.

The establishment of the base builds on the success of the Tongji-Infineon Automotive Electronics and Embedded Systems Demonstration Teaching Laboratory, launched in 2024, further strengthening their collaboration. Additionally, the two parties signed an agreement on fuel cell intelligent control and diagnostics development, marking another milestone in their partnership.

Looking ahead, Tongji University and Infineon will deepen their collaboration, leveraging their strengths to drive innovation and talent development in the automotive industry, contributing to a sustainable and intelligent future.
