The delegation of SAS visited Austria and UK

From March 21st to 28th, Cao Jing, Chairwoman of Administrative Council, the School of Automotive Studies, Tongji University, led a delegation on a visit to several important partner universities in Austria and the United Kingdom, including Graz University of Technology, University of Cambridge, and Loughborough University. They also visited leading global enterprises such as AVL List and the Norwich Aerodynamics Testing Instrument Company.

At Graz University of Technology, the delegation had in-depth exchanges with Professor Horst Bischof, President of the Graz University of Technology; Professor Mario Hirz and Professor Arno Eichberger from the Institute of Automotive Engineering; and Professor Helmut Eichlseder from the Institute of Thermodynamics and Sustainable Power Systems. They also visited several cutting-edge research institutions, including the Institute of Automotive Engineering, the Institute of Automotive Safety, the Innovation Laboratory, and the Institute of Thermodynamics and Sustainable Power Systems. The two sides reached an agreement on promoting interdisciplinary cooperation in the fields of intelligent technology and sustainable development in the future.

At AVL List GmbH, Professor Helmut List, the Chairman of the Board and CEO, met with the delegation. Both parties reviewed their profound relationship that dates back to 1926 when AVL's founder, Hans List, taught at Tongji University. They discussed future cooperation directions in talent cultivation and scientific research, and signed a new agreement for the AVL List Automotive New Power Fund Chair. The delegation also visited several research centers within the company, focusing on hydrogen-powered vehicles, battery innovation, powertrain, and driving simulation.


At the University of Cambridge and the Loughborough University, the delegation visited and learned about the highly integrated models of talent cultivation, basic scientific research, and applied innovation at each school, and exchanged ideas and engaged in discussions with outstanding scholars in related fields.


The delegation also visited Norwich Aerodynamics Testing Instrument Company in the UK. Chell Instruments Ltd has 48 years of professional experience in precision instrument design, manufacturing, assembly testing, and metrology calibration. Its main clients include F1 fleet, Rolls Royce, and wind tunnel laboratories.
