In order to cultivate comprehensive qualities such as global vision, social responsibility and innovation ability, and to take on the responsibility of national rejuvenation, Tongji University Undergraduate School and School of Automotive Studies(SAS), in conjunction with Darmstadt University of Technology in Germany, carried out a summer overseas teaching project with the theme of ‘Sustainable Intelligent Transportation for the Future.’
The project combined the advantages of high-quality automotive culture education and teaching resources of Darmstadt, and provided courses with diverse content and concept collision, to expand students' international vision, stimulate learning enthusiasm, and enrich students' imagination and creativity. SAS of Tongji University selected nine students to participate in this overseas teaching project.
The courses are divided into large classes, seminars, lectures, etc. In this trip to Darmstadt, students participated in various classes. The course content covered the themes of cross-cultural communication between China and Germany, automobile transportation and energy development. In addition to the course study, in this overseas teaching project, the students also went out of the classroom, into the museum and city to explore and practice.
On the last day of the overseas teaching project, the nine students gave a presentation in groups, and introduced China 's efforts and contributions in the transportation, environment and the electrification of automobiles from the aspects of policy, technology and market. The teachers of TU Darmstadt were very interested in the themes shared by the students, and have a heated discussion with them. At the end of the report, the camp certificates were issued for the students.
