The Third International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Congress (FCVC), co-sponsored by the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IFFC) and China Automobile Engineering Society (CAE), was solemnly held in Rugao, Jiangsu Province, from October 23 to 25.
With its internationalization, authoritativeness, professionalism and foresight, the conference attracted more than 500 experts and scholars from more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe and the United States, as well as government, industry, University and research institutes, with a total of more than 1500 participants. The conference was held by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, the United Nations Development Programme, the China International Economic and Technological Exchange Center of the Ministry of Commerce, the Korea Hydrogen Energy Promotion Bureau, Nantong Municipal Government, Rugao Municipal Government, Anglo-American Resources Corporation, Toyota Motor Company, China Automotive Technology Research Center, Tsinghua University and Tongji University. The conference lasted three days, including professional speeches and demonstration experience of technical achievements and products. Dr. Song Ke, from Fuel Cell Vehicle Technology Research Institute of Tongji University Automobile College, made a report entitled "Needs Analysis of Fuel Cell Vehicle Testing and Verification in China and Germany". The report is based on the long-term scientific research cooperation between Tongji University and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, and combined with the national key research and development plan of fuel cell automobiles in China and Germany. Vehicle International Cooperation in Science and Technology (Demonstration and Application) and MoreH2 project of German Ministry of Science and Education have deeply analyzed the similarities and differences of verification requirements of fuel cell vehicles between China and Germany. Combining with advanced virtual reality testing and verification methods, the research on fuel cell vehicle standards of the two countries has been discussed. The report aroused heated discussions among experts, scholars and industry on the differences in fuel cell development between China and Germany and fuel cell test and verification standards.
